New Look, New Updates, Same Me!

Hi everyone. Here again, posting.

I’ve noticed that I’ve updated my tumblr, posterous and twitter more than my wordpress blog. This is the reason of the new look and the updates. Posterous is now handling my updates. So everything poster on facebook, twitter, tumblr and posterous will be posted here too. Just to keep you updated.

There are, however, posts that will be only made available here.

Walking around the city: Washington Heights

Hello dear readers (if any left), today I decided to go out and take a walk. Did not want to be home.

New York has been fun. I’ve seen my cousins, my grand parents, aunts, it’s been quite fun actually. Today, while getting close to where I used to live, I decided to stop at a playground I used to stop back when I was little. It’s been around 10 years since I don’t visit. It’s been fun enough. It’s nice to see kids play and enjoy themselves, with nothing to worry about. Reminds me of myself.

Wow, how life twists and turns in a decade.

Late Night Drafts: Friendship

Okay, many of you know that late nights I type down some of my thoughts, sometimes I finish them and turn them into an over-5-paragraph essay, sometimes I don’t. This is the reason why I’m opening up this category. Here’s the first post for this new category:

Dear friendship, today I was wondering what is the meaning of your name and well, it made me think for a few minutes. I realized that sometimes you come bundled with hypocrisy and that you come in different favors flavors. I also realized that you’re not as loyal as I thought, I have to share you with many people and many have taken advantage of that.

As a geek, I searched for you on Wikipedia and this is what I got in return:

Friendship is co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other’s company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism…

Then, if this is true, it’s really sad. I am the only one who accomplishes with the terms and requisites of the definition. I’m the only one who’s willing to sacrifice ‘Getting some’ just to go the extra mile. And then, I dare to consider myself selfish.

So… why? Why do I use you as an excuse to be loyal to a third party? Why do you bitch at me so much by placing disloyal people in my circle? Why am I the one who’s always disappointed?

Dear friendship, I wish people would take you more seriously…..
